Fireproofing - a great way to make your building and things safe

The buildings have become so complicated that they need to have many safety features such as fireproofing to keep the people living or working there safe in case of fire. However, not many people are aware of the various aspects of fire proofing.
First of all, it is important to understand that fireproofing is the need of the hour. Fireproofing means that you take such fire protection measures that will protect a building in case of any fire. Fireproofing is carried out by using certain materials and or structures that are resistant to fire. Usually, you will need to add certain fire resistant things to the construction material. It is always better to use good materials so that you get better fire resistance rating.
However, you must keep in mind that, just because you have taken so much of pains to fireproof your building won’t mean that it will be entirely unaffected by fire. Whatever method you employ, there is nothing that can remain entirely safe from fires, but yes, fireproofing does help you have a better chance of protecting your things from the fire.
Fireproofing Methods
Fireproofing Methods

Earlier asbestos was used in the buildings to render them fireproof, but this material has been implicated in causing cancer and this is the reason that almost all the buildings have been stripped of the asbestos lining in the walls.
The alternative fireproofing methods
Nowadays there are many endothermic materials that are being used to render a building fireproof. These materials are the cement based materials like gypsum, cement, etc. These can either be sprayed over he surfaced that are intended to be made fire safe or can be used as additives to make the surface fireproof. Though gypsum is not cement, by the industry standards it is included in the cementi
tious fireproofing materials.
When these inorganic substances are sprayed on the surfaces, they prevent the direct contact of fire with the surface and thus makes it fire proof. Also, there is something known as fibrous plaster.
The choice of the fireproof material will depend on what you are trying to fireproof. Once again, just you must understand that covering something in this special type of plaster will not mean that it is going to become immune from fires.
Reasons why fire proofing is essential
·         Cost efficient: the fireproofing is a cost effective method of keeping your things as they are and saving them from extensive damage. Cementitious Fireproofing methods not only make it cost effective in the long run but also are cheaper methods in themselves. The spray on method is the most commonly used method these days as it is easy to use.
·         Helps you get a better fireproofing rating: when you have employed the latest methods of fireproofing you get the higher fireproofing ratings and this, in turn, helps you get a better reputation in the market. If you are a contractor and want to sell a house or building, you will get better deals than those who have not got the proper fireproofing done in their facilities.
