There are different floor finishes, and they include decorative, polishing, dying and staining coating. They can be applied on the concrete that it is being used or a new concrete floor. It gives flexibility of exposing the concrete floor which is already hidden by different coverings like vinyl tiles or carpets. They can also be a dress up for the bare concrete floor in the rooms and basements.
Besides the decorative merits, the concrete floor finishes can be easy to maintain and when they are applied properly on the floor surface.  They are easy to endure the heavy foot traffic, and they are moisture and stain resistant. They are not able to harbor dust mites, allergens, mildew, and mold.
It is time to consider the concrete floor coatings in Indiana if you floor suffers road salt, chemical spills, oil drips and moisture. When you apply the coating or the covering, it will improve how the floor looks, and it can protect it against the deterioration and stains, so it is easier to clean it while it hides the cracks or other problems on the surface.
The coating can be sealers, stains, epoxy paint and floor paints. The coating is less expensive compared to covering when it is applied by the owner himself. It can protect against corrosive chemicals, stains or moisture penetration. However, the coating may fail because of two reasons; it can be because of incomplete floor preparation or damp concrete.
The coating may not be used if the ground moisture rises in the concrete. Moisture may prevent the sticking of the coating on the concrete while the coating can flake, chop and delaminates.  This is why a concrete slab has to be tested before the coating can be applied.

The disadvantage that the coating poses is that it requires many hours to prepare the place. This will depend on how greasy and dirty the floor may be. It may include intensive cleaning using a pressure washer with degreasers or solvent in order to remove old coatings, grease, and sealer. You will have to repair the holes and cracks and then to etch the concrete using muriatic acid in order to leave the place clean at the same time penetrable.
