Top Secrets of Industrial Painters

The industrial painting has got many tricks involved to achieve the desired results. Below are some of the top secrets that industrial painters use to achieve the desired results.
Shining light on the woodwork and circle flaws
A hand held a bulb that is at least 60 watts is positioned in a way that it shines across the wood surface so as to detect the presence of loose paint blemishes and rough edges on the surface so as to determine what should be filled. A pencil can be used to lightly mark spots that need work.
Liquid sandpaper on lead paint
After the final sanding and vacuuming, industrial painting professionals go an extra mile of wiping down the woodwork with liquid sandpaper. This is to ensure that there is a good bond. This step can replace sanding if you want to deal with lead paint. After the completion of the first sanding and scrapping, brush and vacuum woodwork should be used to dust off all the areas.

Fill all the holes
Some people assume that new paint hides tiny dents and scratches, but it doesn’t. The new coat of paint, in fact, highlights minor flaws. Use a spackling compound to fill dents that are less than 1/8 in. Use two-part filler or epoxy wood filler for deeper holes. You usually end up throwing away a lot of partially hardened filler because it is more of a hassle although the patch becomes hard enough to take a lot of abuse without falling out.
Run crisp bead of caulk between walls and woodwork
Industrial painting professionals apply a thin bead of paintable acrylic latex caulk inside the crack where wood meets wall for smooth, professional appearance. Extra caulk needs to be removed with a putty knife. A drip less caulk gun should be used to save time and frustration.
Sand between coats
Even by being extra careful, you can find bubbles and ridges still or a few bits of dust and lint in a fresh coat of primer or paint. Hand sand the entire door after the primer and in between coats of paints for a smoothest possible top coat. This may seem like a lot of work but it should not take more than five minutes when the door is flat on sawhorses. None clogging 180 or 220 grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge should be used when sanding. You need to sand just enough to make the surface feel smooth. After the sanding process, vacuum and wipe down the door with a damp cloth so as to remove all the dust.
The roller cover

The roller cover is the most important part of the paint rolling setting in industrial painting. Do not go for the cheap rollers because they do not hold enough paint to do a professional job. Cheap rollers could take you four times as long to paint as compared to high-quality rollers. Cheap layers also end up with lap marks, inconsistent layers of paint and build up ridges of paint.
